For thousands of years, botanically processed or “medicated” sesame oil has been revered within classical Ayurveda for its amazing health promoting qualities. Daily Abhyanga, or self-massage with medicated sesame oil, is considered a primary Ayurvedic practice to sooth the nervous system and reverse the aging process.
Nourish Abhyanga oil is made with 100% certified organic ingredients which are as follows:
Organic Sesame oil (Sesamum indicum) which has been referred to in India as “The Queen of Oils” for thousands of years, due to the long list of health benefits attributed to it. The oil is gently heated and infused with the following botanicals:
Triphala (“three fruits) consisting of Amalaki (Emblica officinalis), Bibhitaki (Terminalia belerica), Haritaki (Terminalia chebula) which is the best-selling herb combination in India and has been used for thousands of years for its tonifying health benefits.
Green tea leaf (Camellia sinensis) contains many antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds that help to nourish and protect the skin.
Punarnava root (Boerhavia diffusa) literally translates as “that which makes new again” and a commonly used rejuvenating herb utilized in classical Ayurveda.
Licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra) is another sweet rejuvenating herb used in Ayurveda, Chinese medicine as well as Persian/Mediterranean systems of health which all recognize its vitalizing actions.
Hibiscus petals (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis) from flowers that are not only beautiful to look at but have many antioxidant compounds which have toning and anti-inflammatory actions on the skin.
Lavender flowers (Lavandula angustifolia) are another well-known flower with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory gifts in the skincare world.
Rose petals (Rosa damascena) have strong cooling, astringing and anti-inflammatory value.
And of course we add . . . plenty of Pure Love (Purus amore).
Directions: Gently massage oil into body, feet, and/or head in the morning prior to or after showering. May also be used in the evening before bed. For external use only.
